How to Make Ads on Fanbox

Let's Learn About Ads!

Ads are one of the main knowledge roles at FanBox and they help promote blog posts as well as products and services offered by members and merchants.

The magic starts for creating ads at the blue Promote Tab. All types of ads whether for yourself or other FanBox members are created from here.
You can either choose to create ads or manage your existing ads.

You can also create ads from the Green start tab where the Genie is by choosing, "Other Knowledge Roles".
If you use the Genie, the minimum number of ads you can create is 1.
It works by showing you random posts that need promoting and you chose to create an ad for that post or not.

The most successful ads follow the simple, A.I.D.A. formula, it is considered the best way to do Ads on FanBox.
Accurate: Does the Ad’s title, image, body and tags accurately depict what the post is primarily about?
Interest: Does the Ad body get them even more interested in reading the blog post?
Desire: Does the Ad create enough desire to motivate the viewer to click?
Action: After they click and read the blog post, is the viewer satisfied with their action? Did the post deliver what the Ad promised?

Fortunately, it's really easy to learn to do great ads.

What's the purpose of doing Ads?

Simple! Your ad is what you create to entice someone to click on your blog post, product or service.
It's a great idea to give your potential reader a good idea of what awaits them when they click your ad.

First, let's understand how to create a really good ad.
Remember you want your ad to stand out so it gets noticed and clicked. Take a little time to create a good ad and you'll far better results than someone who just put up 10 ads in a row that are low quality with spelling errors, an image that doesn't match the content and text that means nothing to the reader of the ad. That text box on your ad is your chance to connect with a potential reader or product/services buyer in 135 characters or less, think about goes there!

Creating Ads

Your Ad's title may not be all caps.
Example : A POST ABOUT BEARS  would be corrected to A Post About Bears
Note: the first letter of each word is capitalized, this is called "title case".

When creating Ads, the title should be title case (title case means the first letter of each word is capitalized).
all lower case is not title case.
Ad titles should never be created in all capital letters
All Ads should have an image/ad icon.
Your Ad image should be relevant to the post you are advertising.
Your Ad Image (sometimes called your Ad Icon) is the image used in the Ad for promotion of your post, make sure it's relevant to the post you are advertising.

If you need an image, there is a handy link to Google Images.
Your Ad body text should be relevant to the post you're advertising.
Your Ad body text should give people an idea of what they will find at the post when they click your ad.

Your Ad body text should be written in proper sentence form.
Ad text should never be typed in all capital letters.
You have 135 characters in the Ad Text box to use to describe the post your advertising.

Your Ad will be shown to FanBox members based on the Search Terms (tags) you choose.
Choosing popular Search Terms (tags) for your Ads means you will pay more per click but there may also be a better chance of getting clicks.

The search terms determine who sees your FanBox Ad based on the who is interested in topics that relate to those search terms, they should always relate to your post.
Your Ad text should entice people to click to read the post that's being advertised.

It is never okay to use non-conventionally terms in Ads. Words like "Gunna" or "4get" in your Ads will not be approved.
Campaign length refers to the time duration you set your Ad to be active.

Need an Example?

Let's say you have published a post with the best chocolate chip cookie recipe ever.
How would you advertise it?
Remember, you want people to notice and click your ad AND stay on your post!

Now that you know the basics of putting together a great ad and what not to do, let's look at ad costs and daily budget.

Ad Costs

The cost to you per click on your Ads is determined based on the supply and demand for Ads with similar Search Terms (tags).
The CPC (cost per click) for each Search Term (tag) is updated daily.

The PPC is determined by the total value of all 6 of your search terms added up at the time of the click.

If you're funding Ads, you can utilize money from PayPal, Western Union, or your matured FanBox earnings.

You can let Knowledge Boosters fund any Ads you do not wish to fund yourself.

Ad Credits can be utilized for your Ads immediately (no maturation required).

Ad credits spend like real money for ads and earn real money.
Categorizing and Rating posts is the easiest way to earn ad credits to fund your ads.

The lowest CPC (Cost Per Click) you can choose is .01.
You pay ONLY when someone clicks your post.

Understanding Ad Daily Budget

Your "Daily Budget" is the maximum amount you would like to spend each day on that Ad.
Each of your individual Ads has its own Daily Budget.

You may edit your Daily Budget or your Ad Campaign Length (the dates your Ad will run) at any time.

Your Ads will continue to be shown to people even after your full Daily Budget has for that Ad has been utilized.

Setting your Daily Budget to "0.00" means that your Ad will be funded by Knowledge Boosters.

You can let Knowledge Boosters fund any Ads you do not wish to fund yourself.

Knowledge Boosters fund all clicks on Ads that are being shown after their full Daily Budget has been utilized.

You have the option to click "Utilize Entire Daily Budget" and earn for funding the ads of others.

If your Ad is funded by Knowledge Boosters, you will still earn each time it is clicked just like you funded the ad.

If you haven't used up your entire Ad budget by a a certain time, FanBox will use the remainder of your set daily budget to fund other Ads so you have the opportunity to earn more.

You have two basic choices for funding your ads, Knowledge Booster or your FanBox bank (this includes Ad credits).

If an ad is not performing for you, stop funding the Ad yourself and create a new Ad for the post using different title, text, Ad icon and search terms to create a better performing Ad.
Common Topping up Questions for Ads

You cannot send FanBox money through the U.S. Mail for the purpose of topping up your bank.

If you're funding Ads, you can utilize money from PayPal, Western

Union, or your matured FanBox earnings.
No, Paypal is not available for members in Pakistan to send money to their banks

Ad Stats Information

Ad stats is located under "Manage Ads" in your Ad Dashboard.
The purpose of ad stats is to show you your ad click rate.
Ad Click Rate defines the activity in terms of clicks that a particular Ad had.

Ad stats are reported when your Ad gets over 5,000 impressions.
Ad stats can also be reported when an ad gets over 1,000 clicks.
If an Ad shows a grayed out box and it is not clickable on the graph, the ad received less than 5,000 impressions or 1,000 clicks.
Ads funded by Boost or Ads you run on the posts of others will not show stats because you're not funding them.
Ad stats are not reported in real time and are reported within 24-48 hours.
You cannot tell when an Ad has received absolutely zero clicks. Ads with less than 5,000 impressions do not display stats.
