Categorizing and Rating on FanBox

Categorizing and Rating (CAR) is a great way to earn ad credits on FanBox. 
What's so great about ad credits? They can be spent immediately on ads to earn more on FanBox!

How Does Categorizing and Rating Work?

You rate how well a post relates to the search terms used to describe it, in other words - To rate Search Terms based on the quality of the post.
You can help categorize a post by indicating which of its Search Terms the post is primarily about. 
Determine how well the post relates to the search terms used to describe it.

You help to determine the quality of the post by rating it's quality for those Search Terms that the post is primarily about.
A posts quality, determined through the categorizing & rating actions of the community, determines it's position in search.
Ask yourself, How much you would rely on this post for information if you were looking it up by search term on FanBox? Is the search term used relevant to the post? 



How Do You Get Started Categorizing and Rating?

Go to the green "Start" tab and visit the Genie. 
The fastest way to find posts to categorize & rate is via the Genie.
You set a goal for the amount of points you want to challenge yourself to earn and attempt to hit that goal. 
Goal points do not equal any certain amount of ad credits, however you will earn ad credits for activity of categorizing and rating through the Genie or by categorizing and rating the post of your own choosing on FanBox.
You don't have to use the Genie - you can categorize any blog posts you like on FanBox. If you only want to CAR the posts of your friends and/or fans, that's fine too!

How Does FanBox Know How Well You Categorize and Rate?

The system creates a CAR score for you based on every single categorizing and rating activity you do.
Your CAR score is private and not shared.
To determine your CAR score the system looks at how closely your ratings are to other, very smart, readers.

Earn More from CAR?


The activity that earns you the most from Categorizing & Rating is entering a relevant, correctly spelled Search Term suggestion (tag). You may enter up to 100 search term suggestions on a post and those suggestions are visible to only you and may help or hurt your CAR score depending on how relevant they are.
Correctly spelled search terms are favored by the CAR scoring system.
Never use non-conventional spellings for search terms like "Luv" for "Love" or "4ever" for "Forever".

The more successful you are at other money making areas on the site the higher your CAR earnings will be. Therefore when you're categorizing and rating for ad credits, you should also be producing (blogging), promoting (ads) and/or boosting.
The higher your CAR score, Overall earning will be on FanBox.
People with low scores will earn very little from categorizing & rating.
People with high scores will earn more from categorizing & rating.


Here is an example of how simple Categorizing and Rating is.

You can agree or disagree what the post is about and teach FanBox how to better serve up posts when members search for information on the site. 

A green check is that you agree the term fits the post and a red x means you do not agree that search term is relevant to the post. 

Once you make your choice, you will be asked to rate the search term on a scale of 1-10 (1 is the least and 10 is the most relevant).
